The Peugeot 308 SW was recently released and it seems that there will soon be a GTI version available as one has been seen in testing.
From what can be seen it looks like Peugeot plans on expanding the 308 range significantly with there being not only a sedan version but also a GTI version for the SW models. The GTI version is planned for the end of this year or beginning of next and is expected to use the same engine as the 308 GTI hatchback version.
It is thought that this will be a 1.6 litre THP engine and that will be capable of 250bhp. There will also be new 19 inch alloys, uprated brakes, updated steering and lowered suspension. There will be larger anti-roll bars, bigger shocks and stiffer dampners and springs.
They are also going to produce an R version of the hatchback which will have the same engine. The concept was previewed in Spetmeber last year and could manage 270bhp and 243 lb/ft torque.
