Among the cars testing in the winter conditions there is an Infiniti Q30. This was seen warm weather testing last month and was well disguised in black bags. This test mule could be the same one or a different one, it is hard to tell. The concept was previewed over a year ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will share its platform with the Mercedes GLA and will have the same proportions as it but there will be very different styling and obviously Infiniti design cues as well. The spy shots do not give very much away because it has so much disguise on it though. The fact that it is being tested though, does at least give us indication that it is still being developed. It did have a Volvo V60 behind it and it could be thought that they feel this is its competition, as they often test against their closest competition. However, it is much more likely that it will compete with the V40 rather than the V60 as well as the Audi A3 and the Lexus CT 200h and BMW 1 series. It is expected that it will be powered by the GLA engine – 2,0 litre four cylinder, It is thought that it will be produced both in Sunderland in England at Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, which is one of the largest assembly plants in Europe as well as Decherd, TN. It has also been rumoured that there will be a QX30 crossover for rougher roads to come in the future so that could be worth looking out for.
