A prototype vehicle has been seen testing in Scandinavia in the winter conditions. The car is a MG CS crossover and was testing ahead of a reveal. It is expected that it will be appearing in April at the Beijing Motor Show.
It was back in April 2013 when the first crossover by MG was previewed and now it looks like it is almost ready to get to the dealers. It was thought that it would be on the MG5 platform but it looks like it will be using the same as the third generation SsangYongKorando. So not what was originally expected.
It is thought that the wheelbase will be 2650mm long and a choice of two engines. This is likely to be a 1,5 litre MG engine able to do 135 bhp and a 2.0 litre turbo from Korando with 204bhp.
The design can be a seen a it form these pictures. The head lights are swept back and the bonnet sculpted. There is a spoiler on the tailgate and air intakes that are triangular in shape. There is a dual exhaust as well and a beltline that sweeps in an upward direction. The design does look very much like that on the CS concept model.
It is expected that after a debut in Beijing the car will appear for sale very quickly afterwards.
