It will not be long until Aston Martin will be launching their convertible Vanquish sports car. This will happen later this year and it has been spotted testing in the UK. It is the same mechanically as the hard top Vanquish Volante with a Gen4VH platform as well as a V12 5.9 litre 565 bhp which will allow it to go up to over 180mph.
The pictures taken may not convince everyone that the car is a Vanquish Volante. However, the carbon fibre front splitter as well as the raised boot lid spoiler will show that it is a Vanquish. There is a lot of camouflage though and some of it looks like the Jaguar F-type look, which could be trying to put people off looking hard at it. However, there are enough clues, if you look hard enough, to give away its identity.
The cost of the Volante is something which many people are wondering about. The soft-tops tend to be over £10k more expensive in the Aston Martin range and so this could be similar with the Volante. F this will be the case then it will cost more than £200,000. This is a lot more expensive than its nearest rival which is the £176,950 Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster which is a two deater, front-engined model. The price will also be ahead of the McLarent MP4-12C spider and Ferrari 459 Spider.
It is expected that the car will be seen on sale in the late part of 2013 to coincide with Aston’s centenary.
