Mercedes-Benz revealed earlier in the year that 2013 would be the year of the S-class, They are therefore very close to being able to show their production ready car. However, joining that saloon will be a coupe, which is what has been spotted by an observant camera man.
The CL-class will be no longer produced once the S-class coupe is launched. This is similar to what was done with the new E-class coupe and convertible as the CLK-class as done away with.
The camouflage on the car pictured allows interesting things to be revealed about it. It looks like it will have the body lines of the CLS-class but the front fascia will be a lot more dynamic. On the back there are tail lamps which are horizontal which are very different to the vertical ones on the current model of the car. It also looks very much better looking than the current model as well, with the photographer even stating that it is the best looking Mercedes-Benz in a long while.
It is felt that a production car may not be shown until 2014 and most likely in Geneva and so even if it is the year of the S-class vehicle, it will only be seen in sneaky spy pictures, rather than being released officially.
