The next generation Mazda MX-5 Miata has been seen undergoing testing at the Nurburgring. This is something that drivers who like simple and light driving will very much relish as they will probably be looking for something new and exciting in this area. The car seen is a test mule though and so it has the Miatas body with new bits hidden underneath and so there are not many clues as to what a new model may be like. It is still too early to really expect anything else though.
However, the photographers at the ‘ring have speculated that the car may get a big bigger because new models tend to be doing that at the moment. They are predicting a wider and longer body with the wheelbase being stretched to add more room inside for the passengers.
The photos do make it look like it could be bigger but as to the rest, it is anyone’s guess. The pictures imply that the styling may stay very much the same with a long bonnet and short deck which most of the rear-drive cars in its class tend to have. The car is likely to be pricier especially if it is that much bigger.
Testing is still at its early stages and so predicting a date when the car will appear for sale is not easy. Mazda has not said anything either and so everyone will just have to wait and see.
