Nurburgring Sees Mercedes-Benz SLC Testing

Merecedes-Benz releases a SLC every six years or so and each one has a V8 engine and sadly is a bit more downmarket than the generation before. An example is the SLR Mclaren which has a 5.4 litre supercharged V8 engine in 2003 and cost half a million dollars. Then there was the SLS AMG which has a 6.2 litre V8 costing $200k. In late 2014 this new SLS will be expected.
This car is the one thought to be the SLC and so expected to have a twin turbo V8 and be in competition with the high end Porsches. It is expected to be around 485 horsepower in the base model with other models being higher and the Black series model reaching 600hp.
The car pictured testing at the Nurburgring was taped up but had no cladding and so is probably the best look so far at the shape. It is expected that there will be a 2+2 layout and there will be conventional doors unlike the SLR and SLS. There may be a convertible to follow once this one gets on to the market in around a years’ time.
