A prototype for the soon-to-be-released 2013 Kia K9 has been spotted while it was doing some testing in bitter winter conditions. The main model of the brand will be the real success to the Opirus/Amanta that ended production in 2010.
It shares its framework with the rear-wheel-drive platform that was first used by the Hyndai Genesis sedan. The identical engine line-up is probably going to be passed on as well and that means audiences should see a choice of up to three engine options.
The entry level model is a 3.8-liter V6 engine that creates 333hp (248 kW/ 337 PS), and there are two V8 options. The topper has a displacement of 5.0-liters and pumps about 429 hp (320 kW/ 435 PS).
It will still take a couple months until the final production details are unleashed about the K9 model.
