New Exhaust and Possibly Grille for Cadillac CTS-V

The first sighting of the new Cadillac CTS-V sedan have shown that there is a new quad exhaust and the possibility of a new grille as well. The styling seems more aggressive and it looks like there could be a new face as well. It was thought that this would be a prototype but a new grille design would seem a lot of effort just for this and so it is expected that this could very well be used for the production model. The spy photographers have seen the grille on other prototypes, such as the ATS V-series and so this may be part of the differentiation that is supposed to be happening with the V-series. It may be that Cadillac expand the whole of the V-sport range. It is expected that the CTS-V will be a very powerful car. It has been said that there will be a GM 6.2 litre V8 engine but it is likely to be supercharged. The current vehicle offers 556 horsepower and 551 lb/ft torque and so an increase in these could be pretty significant. The main competitor at the moment to the CTS-V is the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and that has a 550 hp output and 590 lb/ft torque and so it may be that the Cadillac aims for 600hp. Although we are seeing this prototype, there is a full year before the production model is likely to appear. It is thought that it will be debuting in the 2015 auto show season ready to come out as a 2016 model.
