The last time we got our eyes on the Mercedes SL AMG it was a hot summer day at the Nurburgring. Now it’s a really cold day in Arjeplog, Sweden and testing continues. Compared to the prototype in August, this one has its real lights, both at the front and rear. But otherwise there is not so much that’s been changed. This one was driving together with the SLS Roadster as a part of the AMG winter test team.
Notice the brakes, with cross drilled discs in both front and rear are some sizes bigger then we have seen on the normal SL prototypes. Same thing with the six piston calipers. Those are things that are hard to hide, what’s easier to hide are the quad exhaust pipes, here looking like normal pipes in an attempt to fool us. Power will come from the new 5,5 liter V8 bi-turbo engine developing some 571 hp connected to the AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission.
