The S63 AMG Coupe is set to be the next Mercedes in the AMG range. It will look like the S-class coupe concept that was displayed in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show but with additional AMG style. It will also have greater power than either the Porsche 911 Turbo S or the Ferrari 458 Spider.
This model has not been seen before, with only the standard one being spotted in the past. This one looks more aggressive in the front bumper than the S63 AMG saloon. The intakes will feed air to the massive front brakes that are cross-drilled and placed behind multi spoke AMG wheels. There will be ceramic stoppers that do not fade available as an option which has gold coloured brake calipers.
The boot lid spoiler is taller at it also have four exhaust pipes that are trapezoidal in shape. This will allow plenty of space for the twin turbo V8 to exhale. It will be capable of 577 bhp and 664 lb/ft torque which is very much ip on the CL63 AMG that it will be replacing by 41 bhp and 74 lb/ft/.
It is expected that there will only be a rear drive version available in the UK but it is expected that there will be a 4Matic all wheel drive option available in those markets with left hand drive such as America and Europe. All of the AMG S-class models will have a seven speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
This car is expected to start at £120,000 which is good value if you compare it to some of its competitors. The Mercedes SLS AMG for example of the Aston Vanquish which is more powerful but costs £180,000.
There will be a V12 two door called the S65 AMG Coupe to follow afterwards. This will have a V12 and will be heavier and more expensive. It will use the 621bhp bi-turbo engine that is in the saloon version and it will have ceramic brakes as well. There will also be some styling changes and it will come after the S63 that is due mid 2014. This will cost over £160,000.
