Spy photographers have recently seem a prototype if the Mercedes-Benz GLK. It looks like the design will be quite different to the current car though. It seems like the boxy crossover will look rather more streamlined.
This may partly be because it will get a bit bigger. This is so that it can be more easily distinguished from the GLA-class model that has just been unveiled. With the curvy body the GLK will not look so much bigger as this will hide it a bit.
The platform is the same as is being used on the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-class and the powertrains are therefore likely to be the same as well. If this is the case then it is likely that there will be a petrol and diesel option as well as a hybrid. At the moment it only has the option of a 2.1 litre turbodiesel inline four and a 3.5 litre V6 that is naturally aspirated.
The next C-class will be shown at the Detroit Auto Show I January 2014 and it will start being sold the following August. It is likely that the GLK will appear just after.
