There have been some recent spy photos taken of what looks like a new Chevy Cruze. Jalopnik have said that it is solely for the Chinese market with a shorter wheelbase than the one that will be available in the US but no more details have yet been revealed.
The pictures certainly make it look like there will be quite a makeover for the car. The fascia looks like it will be very different, for one thing. There will still be a golden bowtie and two grilles on the new model but it will look very different to the old one. The lower grille is bigger and the higher one is narrower and tight against the headlights which are swoopier. It looks like this will look much more similar to the Ford which is its big rival in this market.
There is a shoulder and arch at the back of the car which looks like the one of the Impala. It looks quite plain on the back though with the back light clusters being underlined with a bright flourish. Inside the functions are pretty much the same, just with some modernisations and a large LCD screen in the centre stack.
The platform used will be a version of GM’s compact one codenamed D2XX. There has been nothing to be said about what power the car will have but it is expected that it will have a 1.4 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine. The photos were taken from auto-sohu.com and they state that the car will debut in April at the Beijing Motor Show.
