Chevrolet took the model year 2013 off but it now looks like it is getting it next generation Colorado ready. It is already for sale in Asia, Australia and South America. No date has been released as to when the truck will be made available for US truck drivers to buy, it is known that the Chevy Colorado will be built with the GMC Canyon at the Wentville, MO plant belonging to General Motors. This is the place where the GMC Savana and Chevrolet Express is currently being built and it will be upgraded, retooled and expanded for $380 million to accommodate the new work.
Spy shots have been taken and from them it looks like the Colorado will have some styling changes. It is not obvious whether this will be for the global design or just in the US released models. The second generation has a face that is father feminine and so the blockier look of this model looks more fitting. It also has a grille that is more prominent which is similar to that on the 2014 Silverado. To improve aerodynamics it has a lower air dam that is huge. There are no clues as to what is under the hood of course and it could include a small diesel, 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder or 3.6 liter V6. It may even have one of the 4.3 litre V6 engines that were introduced for the full size trucks of 2014.
