This is a new look at the new Chevrolet Cruze which it is thought will be launched next year in 2016. This car looks sporty but also graceful and the profile looks rather coupe like but the wind screen is steeply raked.
The front of the car has a large split grille and this looks similar to the recent range of Chevrolet cars. The dashboard looks rather elegant and the interior have an overall rather corporate look. This includes high gloss accents and dashboard stitching with a steering wheel that has three spokes.
This model is a big seller for Chevrolet because it is a size and type that fits in with a lot of markets. Another plus is that vehicle can have a lot of gadgets in it which appeal to a wide range of people. This includes the MyLink user interface. However, there has been a decision to remove the brand from the European market by the former CEO of GM Dan Akerson which means that the significance of the vehicle is less significant than perhaps it was in the past. This means that there might not be a hatchback or station wagon version of the next Cruze.
The platform will be the Delta II platform which GM uses for a selection of vehicles such as the next generation Volt. This is cost effective and allows for several powertrain selections.
It is expected that there will be a 1.4 litre four engine with turbocharger but the entry level one is probably more likely to be a 1.8 litre one. There will also be options of a 2.0 litre turbo diesel which is powerful and has a high torque. Outside of the US there could be a naturally aspirated 1.4 option and there could also be an SS option as well. This could have a 2.0 litre engine which could come up to almost 300 horsepower.
It is expected that the Cruze will arrive at the beginning of 2015 with the price being less than $20,000.
