Just a few days ago, the 85th Geneva International Motor Show came to a successful completion; bringing some of the world’s leading luxury car manufacturers together as
they unveiled their latest and most innovative offerings so far. From Porsche to Lamborghini, the following are the top 5 new models that stood out from the rest.
5. Porsche 911 GT3 RS
It was back in the year 1999 when the first ever model for the Porsche 911 GT3 nameplate was unveiled; officially becoming the 1973 911 RS’s successor. The RS,
which started with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine that had a 381 HP rating, went on to boast of 415 HP, with the launching of the 997 generation. In 2009, it was updated, with the 997
RS getting equipped with a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that rated at 450 HP. The GT3 RS 4.0 that was launched in 2011, came with a 4.0-liter engine at 500 HP, was the final
model for the 997-generation RS product line.
Fast forward four years later, the nameplate made a comeback with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which is rated with a 500 brake horsepower, and costs €183,000.
4. Ferrari 488 GTB
Four decades since the Ferrari 308 GTB was launched, the Italian car maker uncovered the latest offering in this product line, in the form of the 488 GTB. Said to be the
successor of the 458 Italia, it features a 3,902cc turbocharged V8 engine in its hood. Power has no doubt been increased, from the 308 GTB’s 562 BHP to a significantly
more impressive 660 BHP. The maximum torque is now at 561 lb ft, and is can be obtained just from 3,000 RPM. All these components allow for the 488 GTB to
accelerate from 0 – 62 mph in just as little as 3.0 seconds, and from 0 – 124mph in just 8.3 seconds.
3. McLaren 675 LT
According to British maker, one third of the individual parts of the 675 LT has been changed from its predecessor, the 650 S. With these part replacements, the latest
model from the LT line is now just at 1,300 kg, and has a BHP rating of 666. Priced at €366,000, this impressive machine can accelerate from 0 – 60 in just 2.7 seconds.
2. Koenigsegg Regera
According to Swedish auto maker, “Regera” literally translates to the terms: “rule, govern, or reign.” Judging from the name itself, this luxury vehicle, which is described by
the manufacturer as a “megacar,” can be expected to be as powerful as one can hope, bringing in an astounding 1,500 BHP and an acceleration of 0 – 60 in just 2.5 seconds.
1. Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce
Making it first in this list is the latest offering from Lamborghini, the Aventador Superveloce, and for many good reasons. First, there is its maximum power output of
740 BHP. Then, there is the fact that its maximum engine speed is at 8,500 RPM. It features three presets, namely: STRADA, SPORT, and CORSA. All these help make
certain that the driver has complete control over the machine, whatever condition he may be driving in.
