Mercedes-AMG introduced the Mercedes-AMG GT model in September 2014. The auto manufacturer unveiled it at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Since then Mercedes-AMG introduced various variants of it including two roadster versions that the company displayed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Recently, spy pictures of a possible Mercedes-AMG GT have emerged.
More specifically, a video of it surfaced in the media. It was a recording of the vehicle as the auto-manufacturer tested it at the Nürburgring Motorsports Complex in Nürburg, Germany. Greater scrutiny of the video revealed that this car looks like a Mercedes-AMG GT R, but it is a GT Black Series model.
Remember, the current managing director of Mercedes-AMG, Tobias Moers had said that this model would be ready for sale this year. Tobias made this promise in 2014. It is likely that the auto-manufacturer will introduce it this year as a model for 2019. Here are some of its features.
More specially, the GT Black Series model has two exhaust pipes on either side of the vehicle. The GT R has one centrally located exhaust pipe. Other notable features that set apart this vehicle from GT R models include aerodynamic enhancements, race-bred suspension, and weight reduction. It also had an angrier look than most GT R versions have.
Moreover, careful examination of the spy video revealed that the car Mercedes-AMG was testing had a plexiglass rear windshield.
Porsche and Ferrari have made similar vehicles to this one. The Volkswagen subsidiary unveiled the 911 GT2 RS at the 2017 Xbox-E3 Briefing while Ferrari had started selling the 488 in 2016. It is likely that the GT Black Series model will compete effectively with both of them. It is even possible that it will outdo the Porsche 911 GT2 RS in both sales and engine performance.
