Mercedes-Benz formally launched the CLA-Class series in January 2013 at the North American Auto Show. Later models of the CLA-Class came from Mercedes-AMG. Currently, Mercedes-AMG is preparing for the launch of the CLA 35 and new versions of the CLA 45. You can see video footage of the CLA 35 as the auto manufacturer tests it in Germany. Mercedes-AMG camouflaged it during the test to hide the model and its modifications. However, some features are still visible despite the camouflage. For example, you can see the rear diffuser and exhaust tips if you watch the footage closely. The tips shape is an indication that the car the automaker was testing the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35.
The Features of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35
The CLA 35 will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 301 hp. It will have 400 Nm of torque as well. This car will speed from zero to 100 km/h in less than 4.7 seconds. It can only go as fast at 250 km/h. The CLA 35 will have a 7-speed dual clutch transmission channeling output to its axles. These features mean that it is similar to the Mercedes-AMG A35 especially when it comes to the performance of its engine. The new version CLA
45 will differ slightly from these two models even though it will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine as well. More specifically, it will have 400 hp.
The Second-Generation CLA Family
Mercedes is also planning to revamp the rest of its cars in the CLA series. For example, it will offer two body styles for them, i.e., a shooting brake and a four-door coupe. Glimpses of the shooting brake style by motor enthusiasts revealed that the cars had retained their sloping roofline. However, the automaker raised this roofline a bit to increase headroom and boost the boot’s capacity.
