So, what are photos of a regular Mini Cooper S doing here as spy photos? Well….look again, and look closely: First of all we notice the yellow stickers on the side windows saying it’s a Hybrid prototype. And a second and closer look reveals a package under the rear axle that shouldn’t be there.
This my friends is a four-wheel drive Mini Cooper S !! The front wheels are powered by the normal engine and the rear wheels are getting their power by an electric engine. We have no information about the amount of power but we have a confirmation from someone inside of BMW/Mini that this car is in the works. But we expect that it first will show up in the next generation Mini due in 2012-2013.
