“Shawn and Shonna Speer for CarPix”
While the first prototypes of the Ferrari 612 successor we spotted where chopped up versions of the current 612, this is now a real body prototype. And while this is camouflaged as a hatch, don’t worry, even if rumors are talking about a Shooting Break the new 612 will first appear as a 2+2 Coupe.
It’s still hard to get any idea how the new car will look but it seems like it will be a bit longer this time. Maybe the expected KERS-technology need the space or it will just get a roomier backseat. And maybe this time they will introduce the “Insertable 4×4”, a four-wheel drive system developed by Ferrari and suitable for both front and mid-engine cars.
There is still lot of time to figure that out, since this car will first be shown as a concept in Geneva in March and hit the market in late 2011 after the official debut in Frankfurt in September. The concept is told to be in the shape of the old Breadvan, aka a Shooting Break.
