It was a long seven years that Rolls-Royce just had the phantom in its product line. This was just a saloon with a long wheelbase version, convertible and coupe. Now it has the Ghost as well and it looks like they may be producing new versions of this in a similar way.
The Ghost sedan seems to be accompanies by a long wheelbase version as well as a Wraith fastback coupe. However, the new spy shots show a convertible version of the Wraith in testing.
It is thought that the car might be called the Wraith Drophead coupe. It is expected that it will be similar to the Wraith fastback such as using the same V12 6.6 litre twin turbo engine. This is capable of 624 horsepower and 590 lb/ft torque. This will have a folding cloth roof mechanism though and this will not only let the wind in to the car but give the passengers a better opportunity to hear the roar of the engine. The car photographed does have a makeshift hard top on it though and so the actual look of the roof is not shown.
It is not known when the car will appear in showrooms but it is certainly known that it will be pricey. Rolls-Royce are expected to price it around the $320,000 mark which is $40k higher than the fastback. This is $150k less than the Phantom Drophead Coupe though but it is $120k more than the Bentley Continental GTC.
