There is some brand new spy footage coming out of the 2013 Vauxhall and Opel. We’re a little up in the air about naming it, but let’s just stick with the Junior or Allegra moniker that has been used in the company for development.
This car will go underneath the Corsa when it is unveiled at the 2012 Paris motor show. It’s a substitute for the Agila, and it comes out in 2013, and it will cost about the same amount as a Fiat 500.
GM Europe is trying to mimic the creative style of the 500 and Mini and will have a large customization programme.
What does Vauxhall’s design chief say about the new Junior?
The European design chief, Mark Adams, had previously told CAR: «We have a heritage in small cars, but we wanted to do this in a contemporary way.»
Paraphrased, he went on to say, it’s a modern car, but it still has personality. They want to demonstrate that it is not too limited. The Junior will make people realize that the Opel-Vauxhall brand is not a dead brand. If they would have tried to release before Insignia, it would not have worked most likely. Since they’ve developed the quality, now they can go with more character and personality.
What is seen in the new spy video of the Vauxhall Junior?
The new spy video of the car reveals a compact hatchback design that works well on test manoevres. It’s still disguised so it’s hard to make out all the details, but the silhouette gives a good idea of the car.
