Since the Volvo XC90 was first made, it has not changed very much in its design. However, ten years later, it seems like Volvo wants to bring in some changes. The spy shots give away a few clues.
The current XC90 is longer and wider than the XC70 and it looks like the new one will be as well. This means that there will still be room for three rows of seating in the car. However, it will have a new platform, which will be rolled out across a selection of new Volvo models.
It seemed like the mule was powered by a five cylinder diesel engine, but it is likely that the new cars will be powered by smaller engines. This is because there has been a move towards the new Volvo Engine Architecture in the new models. It has also been rumoured that the XC90 will have turbocharge four cylinder engines will eight speed automatic transmissions. This means that some of the current options will probably no longer be available.
There have been some delays in the production, meaning that rather than debuting in late 2014, it is more likely that the launch will be at the beginning of 2015.
