The Land Rover Freelander will be replaced in the near future. With it having been around for so long it is not surprising that the replacement is expected to be different.
There have already been rumours that it might become a Discovery family addition and the prototype that has been spotted shares some features of the Range Rover Sport and Evoque. It is also expected that the model might save some weight by using composite body parts and aluminium.
There has been no confirmation about engine choices but it is thought that it might be able to use four cylinder engines from a new range of diesels and petrols that have lower emissions and better fuel efficiency.
It could be introduced later in the year and if this is the case it is likely that there will be a lot more information coming along in the near future so we will soon find out a lot more about the new vehicle.
