The Mercedes-Benz GLA, which is due for release in 2014 has been photographed in northern Europe. It was being tested in winter conditions and so spies were able to snap some pictures of it.
It looks like the MFA platform used for the A and B Class models will be the basis of the entry-level crossover. This will probably lead to a 1.6 litre engine being used which will probably produce 156 horsepower. It is possible there will be a 2.0 litre engine as well. There is a chance that they may put in a 2.0 litre turbo engine as well.
It looks like the A Class will be the main influence for the design as it has the tailgate mounted spoiler, prominent grille in the front and headlights that are swept back which the A Class has. It will probably be higher though.
It is felt that next year the car will be unveiled and sold in Europe and the US launch will follow in 2014.
