The German language brochure for the 2014 Mercedes S-Class has been leaked online. One of the pictures was posted on other sites a few weeks ago but the brochure gives more clues. It is only a week until the car will actually be unveiled but this leak gives a few more clues as to what might be expected. The brochure was scanned and placed on a German car forum by a user called Meilensammler.
The care will have two length options. It will not have any bulbs but just LED’s. Itw ill have the same wheelbase as the W221 currently has and the longer wheelbase option will just be available in the US. The wheelbases are lower, wider and longer than the current model. Inside the car there are TFT screens which measure 12.3 inches. The back seats look outstanding as well, in the first class package.
It seems that when the car is launched there will be three models. There will be a twin turbo V8 which is the one from the S550 that has gone up from 4.6 to 4.7 litres and can do 449 horsepower, 20 more than the current model with 516 lb/ft torque. This is listed as being capable of doing 0-60 in 4.8 seconds but all the models are limited to a top speed of 155 mph. There will be a S350 which will still have a 3.0 litre V6 but with an 18 hp increase to 258 and it will have 457 lb/ft torque. There will also be a S400 hybrid which will combine an electric motor with a 3.5 litre V6 engine. This will have an increase of 27 hp to 302.
