It has been confirmed that Fiat will introduce the 500 – based crossover during the March auto show that will take place in Geneva. This information comes straight from one of their spokespersons mouth. This new model that will be known as the L0 or “elle 0” will be available in the U.S. and it comes from a company that goes by the name of Abarth SS.
This car is the first Fiat Panda and it is a mix of the 500 hatchback and the platform mate. However, the final version is expected to be more like an SUV than the van like Panda. Also, we are expecting for the door handles to be chrome grab bars – similar to the 500. We even expect a normal roofline as well.
We are hoping that Fiat will skip the 500’s underwhelming 101 –hp, 1.4 – liter inline four and instead use the turbocharged version that is found in the Abarth and Dodge Dart. However, it does not matter which engine is used there is going to be front wheel drive available as well as all wheel drive. Then, from looking at the YouTube videos of the Panda 4 x 4 we feel as though this model will be a beast when it is off the road.
You can expect this model to be available during the third quarter of the year.
