The rumors that have been spreading about a more powerful version of the existing XFR sports model of Jaguar seem to be true. This is quite evident from the photos that were clicked around the Germany’s Nurburgring race track. The major change that has been brought about is in the engine which has been enhanced from 510 bhp to 550 bhp. There is quite an obvious change in the performance of the XFR and the XFR-S, however, you need to be smarter in guessing the visual differences. In one look both the cars appear to be similar. If you observe it carefully, you will be able to make out there is a drastic change that has come up in the front fascia, mainly with the addition of some vanes which are positioned on either side of the brake vents. In order to give a look of wider tires, both the front and the rear fenders have been pushed further outwards. At present there is a set of P255/35ZR20 and P285/30ZR20 tires that have been used in both front and rear of the XFR. Jaguar is now planning to revamp all its vehicles and upgrade them with the turbocharged 4 cylinders, all wheel drive. Besides this, they are also planning to introduce diesel versions of the car.
It feels really good to see that a brand like Jaguar is able to maintain its value of providing high performance especially with the cars like XFR-S in addition to the XKR S coupe and convertible that were introduced last year.
Revamping the Range
Besides this, the other clues that are evident from the pictures are that XFR-S offers a few more additional things that mainly include the lowered side sills and also a spoiler, which is bigger than the ones that have been used in the XFR. You can also see some red clippers which seem to be quite huge that seem to peek out of the aforementioned alloy wheels. It is quite obvious that the supercharged V-8 will surely be exhibiting 8 speed automatic and adaptive dynamics that were there in the XFR.
It will certainly a great thing to note here whether Jaguar will provide the owners of XFR-S model the option of switching off the all its electronic aids, it certainly will prove to be quite helpful especially in rainy weather. All the other mechanical details along with the pricing will all be available during the 2012 Auto show that will be hosted in late September in Paris.
You can expect the XFR-S sales to kick off in US either towards the year end or early next year.
