2013 Toyota RAV4 Rendered 2 August 2012, eagleweb @ 8:19 am

We are details on the next generation offering of Toyota, which is the RAV4 crossover. We have spotted prototypes when it was going through testing. Our shots suggest that there may be plenty of changes in the upcoming offering of the small SUV by Toyota. It is said to have a smooth finish in terms of styling.
In spite of the present model having long in the tooth, the RAV4 is a hot option in the showrooms. It is growing beyond the mainstream, doesn’t go with the old school SUV look, with the tailgate mounted tire style, it still goes with the same segment. This means there will be a different look, not more on the truchisk kind. At the same time, it is said to be having better fuel economy status.
The upcoming RAV4 is going to set with the platform of the current model. However, it will look a bit different, and all this because of a snout, smooth enough. And, the steeply windshield and an absence of the exterior mounted spare tire. Our team is applying the latest design language from Toyota to fit the shape of the RAV4 prototype that we have got a glimpse of. To get a mental picture, imagine the current RAV4 model with a mix of elements from the latest on Camry sedan. Though the speculations render that there will be certain elements off from the current RAV4 as opposed to the previous version, however, the European RAV4 is almost looking the same with its current model.
For buyers, there are specifications available in the form of either a front wheel or all-wheel drive. Also, it is highly expected to have the same four and six cylinders from the current RAV4 in the contemporary version too. However, buzz is that there may be an upgrade, more in terms of six speed automatic transmissions, for both the engines. At this moment the four cylinders is getting a four speed ancient auto. The brawny C6 however is getting a five-cog slush box.
This car may have competition from Mazda CX-5, GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Equinox, Kia Sportage, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape and Hyundai Santa Fe.
The estimate time of arrival of the all-new RAV4 is around 2013, late summer or in fall. If not, it would debut for sure in early part of 2014. The price may not go too beyond the current version; its base for now is $23,460.
