2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Spotted In Spy Photos 1 March 2012, eagleweb @ 10:56 am

What is this car really, anyway? This is a prototype, and it is a really fast-moving one at that. The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 coupe is its more outgoing twin. No one’s really sure if the car will have a cloth roof like its previous model, the Murcielago roadster, or something more classy, like the removable carbon-fiber panel. Everyone hopes that the second option is true ecause the Murcielago roadster roof was just like a haphazard makeshift tent that could only be used in dire situations. Even though it doesn’t matter that much because the internal environment of most Lamborghinis is such that it probably won’t have the roof in many situations. Outside of the roof’s construction, almost every other body panel seems to be shared with the basic Aventador. This is a great thing because the car looks really awesome indeed.

Why does this matter? Lamborghini makes a low volume of very high-rpriced cars, and they need to create as many variations as possible to make sure the order books are always stacked high with new orders. They need to keep all the profits really high. For car enthusiasts, it will provide another way for them to explore the car brand and model they so know and love.

What is the platform like? The Aventador roadster will have nearly everything in common with the couple counterpart, and that means there will be a lot of carbon fiber, and this will be in the passenger seat as well. The car will have a great pushrod suspension too, and the aluminum front and rear subframes are truly astonishing. You can look more into the Aventador’s chassis when you visit this link.

What about the powertrain? The Aventador will have a 691-hp V-12 that should be the same too, and it will be tied to a seven-speed ISR automated manual transmission. You can view an inside look at the engine and transmission here right now. The coupe could get up to 60 mph in just under three seconds, and that is pretty impressive. It went up to a quarter-mile in just 10.9 seconds at 133 mph. The roadster won’t go so far behind.

What is the competition like? The Bugatti Veryon, Grand Sport, and Ferrari supercar are all going to pose tough competition to the Lamborghini Aventador model.

What could go wrong? Nothing, really, besides the financial markets imploding.

What is the arrival time and price looking at? The Aventador roadster should come out at the Paris auto show in the fall, and it might come out sooner. Deliveries could start by the end of the year. The price should be around $415K or so.
