Rolls Royce is currently working on a stretched version of the ”small” Ghost, the Ghost LWB. Normally we had thought that the Ghost is the Rolls Royce you drive yourself, and the bigger Phantom the one you will driven in.
But apparently there are customers asking for a longer version of the Ghost as well, and in times like this, with financial crisis and CO2 discussions, maybe a smaller Rolls Royce Ghost in a stretched version looks better outside Hotel de Paris in Monaco then a Phantom. Anyway, it looks like the LWB version is about 20 cm longer than the normal version.
The time will show if this will hurt the sales of the Phantom, of if Rolls Royce found some new customers with this move.
The Ghost LWB is expected to hit the market in mid 2011. Later on during 2011-12 the Ghost family will extend even more with both a Coupe and a Convertible in the pipe line.
