Today caught the very first prototype of the next generation Honda Civic during its first test on the German roads. Spotted a mule during brake testing earlier this summer but now they have a real prototype ready for road testing. It appears to be about the same size as the current Honda Civic that made its debut in 2005, but as we remember on the mule it was slightly wider so we expect this one to be slightly wider as well. The rear doors do look longer so maybe they listened to the criticism and made the rear seat entry easier. Even with the amount of camouflage we can see the greenhouse and the roof line very clearly. The door handles on the rear doors are placed as on the current car.
Power will come from diesel and petrol engines as well as a hybrid version. We expect the Civic to hit a dealership close to you during the latter half of 2011 as a 2012 model.
