Production of new Volkswagen Amarok is scheduled to begin later this year in Pacheco, Argentina. VW Amarok will be sold in South America, South Africa, Australia and some European countries.

Code Name of VW truck is Robust, likely will be changed to “Amarok”. Amarok will be officially presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Volkswagen plans to produce about 90,000 units a year to South America and Latin American markets.

    The Amorak VW looks surperb. Sleek, functional and tough. A safisticated truck for farming women who also need to go into town. Pick up the kids for sports events etc. Lets hope it can pull 2-3 horse float loaded with thoroughbreds.

    All about the Amarok is superb EXCEPT for the dashboard. Please no outdated round (UGLY) airvents and when will designers realise not to have a ‘parcel’ tray on the dash – experience the reflection in the windscreen – PLEASE re-design for an otherwise perfect looking double-cab.
